D.W. Rutledge
Executive Director - Texas High School Coaches Association & Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation

D.W. Rutledge was one of the most successful coaches in Texas high school football history.  His teams advanced to seven 5A state championship games, winning four in 1988, 1992, 1993 and 1995.  Rutledge served as an assistant coach from 1975-1983.  In 17 seasons at Converse Judson as Head Coach he compiled a 198-31-5 record, won 12 district championships, 10 City Championships, 10 Regional Championships, 7 State Finalist, 4 State Championships and advanced the Rockets to the playoffs 16 times.   More About D.W.

Joe Martin
Asst. Executive Director - Texas High School Coaches Association

Joe Martin graduated from Lewisville High School in 1974 where he played quarterback on the 1972 state finalist team.  He graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with e B.S. degree in 1978 and played quarterback for the Greyhounds from 1975-1977. Coach Martin enjoyed a 26-year coaching career in Texas public schools.  He served as a head coach for 18 years at four different high schools (Lake Dallas, Mabank, Garland, Allen) while compiling a 150-54-4 career record.  Coach Martin's teams won 9 district championships, had 13 playoff appearances that included two trips to the semifinals and one state championship.  More About Joe

Jason DeLaPorte

The vortex of a storm is where Jason find’s comfort. His uncanny ability to see beyond the chaos allows him to provide dynamic and unforeseen opportunities to those on the journey. Melinda Cox

Chief of Staff.  Conductor and head synchronizer. Melinda has over 20 years of experience working with Fortune 100 executives in corporate leadership from project management in organizations, talent and corporate initiatives as well as managing processes and systems for client services, human resources and global management. Melinda also assists the CEO for numerous organizations both profit and non-profit.

Melissa Cox

Creative Mastermind and Execution Specialist.  Mrs. Make it Happen, no mountain is too high. Melissa is a passionate writer/communicator who has spent the last 25 years working with high-profile individuals in sports, entertainment, politics and the non-profit sector. She uses her ability to communicate effectively to help individuals and organizations develop messages, products and events that enhance the end-users experience. She is passionate about helping adults to harness their passions so to impact the next generation.

Sandra Crawford Williamson

Marketing Genius and Strategist Extraordinaire. Sandra is a seasoned executive who was most recently Chief Marketing Officer for a $3 Billion advertising agency for 600,000 small to medium sized businesses in America. Williamson brings over 20 years of general management, marketing, and sales experience with a passion for taking brands to the next level of awareness and developing product portfolios that deliver strong results.

Lisa Stephenson

Gifted, detail and logistical master.  Simplifying the complicated is her forte. Lisa brings with her more than 25 years of experience in corporate event planning. Her resume in sporting events ranges from celebrity golf tournaments worldwide, opening ceremonies for the World Cup, hospitality at the Red River Rivalry and a host of bowl venues as well as multiple NCAA Final Fours and the Kentucky Derby. At the high school level, Lisa has managed the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Trinity Mother Frances Football Classic and the H-E-B Texas Football Classic which coincided with the 40th anniversary of Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine. One of her favorite recurring roles is a redhat for ESPN High School Football.

Alex Fuerst

Creating visually stunning graphics and video. Alex's work has been seen on the local level to internationally and everywhere in between for 13 years. A broad set of experience with feature hollywood films, national broadcasts, corporate media productions, independent films and hollywood crews over the last decade endorse his desire for excellence and innovation to advance motion medias.

Debbie Terry

Premier relationship and value producer. With a wide range of experiences in both for-profit and non-profit  sectors, Debbie Terry has been an owner of a nationwide executive recruiting firm for small business lenders and has served as a national sales and marketing consultant in the healthcare industry.  Whether cultivating business expansion, launching people movements, consulting in international ballot security, or training women in developing nations, Debbie is energized by connecting people with the right opportunities to create success to the bottom line, change lives, and impact the culture with timeless truth.

Anna Greer

Our white tiger, rare.  Graceful, yet powerful. Anna Greer is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University with a major in Communications and a minor in Sociology.  Anna is involved with sales, marketing and media relations for our clients as well as production and design.  Anna’s attention to our client needs as well as their respective businesses is key for the valued services we provide our customers.

Zack Cox
Clark Kent

Uber talented writer and journalist by day... Zack Cox attends Oklahoma State University with a major in Journalism and Communications.  Zack has written and researched articles and tutorials for an award winning technology company as well as created web and social media content.  Zack’s creativity is key in delivering the most relevant information for our clients.

Gordon R. Mackey

Gordon has been with the Texas High School Coaches Association and the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation since 2010 as Director of Finance/Treasurer. He is a CPA who has been in private practice for over twenty years.   Before coming on staff, he had been the Association’s auditor for most of that time.  Gordon’s duties include cash management, budgeting, insurance, and financial reporting for both the Association and the Foundation.

Sheryl Honeycutt

With a background in athletic administration Sheryl has been with the Texas High School Coaches Association for twenty years.  Serving as editor of the association’s publication, Texas Coach, she also works with sponsorships, scholarships, the THSCA Hall of Honor as well as day to day administration.  Prior to coming to the association in 1993, she worked in Sports Information at the University of Texas Men’s Athletic Department and was also an executive assistant for the Northside Independent School District’s athletic department.

Becky Adams

Becky is a 2005 graduate of Texas State University, with a degree in Graphic Design and Mass Communication. The daughter of a head football coach, she has grown up around high school athletics. She is currently the THSCA’s Director of Technology and All-Star Events, working to coordinate website maintenance and social media for the association, monitoring the THSCA’s government relations efforts, and organizing the football and basketball All-Star Games.

Chelsea Hart

 Chelsea will graduate in May 2013 from Texas State University, with a degree in Public Relations and Communication Studies.  She has worked as an intern for the THSCA for 4 years and currently works as an Executive Assistant, working on day to day administration as well as helping with the coordination of hotels for all THSCA events.

Molly Woodchick

Molly is a graduate of Texas State University with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Business Administration. She is currently the Texas High School Coaches Association’s Director of Exhibits and Awards. In her position at the THSCA, she handles various responsibilities such as selling/coordinating exhibit space, coordinating and communicating with speakers, and managing various awards like Academic All-State, State Champions, etc. Molly constantly strives for precision and excellence in everything she does. She continues to progress in her position at the THSCA because she is passionate about coaches and the positive influence they are making on the world today.

Mary Gibbens

As a high school coaches wife for 30 years, Mary came to the Texas High School Coaches Association with a true understanding of what being a coach really entails. She has been on staff with the THSCA for 5 years. Currently the Director of Membership & Staff Services, Mary’s primary responsibilities are membership registration and member services. With a background in Customer Service she does all she can to uphold our motto “Helping Coaches Help Kids” by providing ongoing support to our membership. Her daily activities also include Human Resources & Accounting support for the Association.
